A guided ride on the bridleways around the Ladybower Reservoirs in the Dark Peaks. The ride is illustrated in MBR magazine and is easy to follow on the Map and on the ground.
There are two steep climbs, both can be ridden by most fit riders, other than two stream crossings where the only option is to carry the bike.
Start at the Ladybower visitors centre, cross the reservoir on the road beneath the dam and follow it on the east side of the reservoir to the bridleway that is paved and climbs to Whinstone Lee, then head east on a fast downhill section to Cutthroat Bridge. Do Not Go To The Road but turn West at the stream and follow this bridleway to the road.
Stay on the A57 crossing the Ladybower Reservoir and turn right on the road on the West of the reservoir.
Turn left onto the farm road to Crook Hill Farm, climb and go through a gate into the yard and keeping right and still climbing cross the yard to a bridleway over Bridge-end-pasture, this is a very long grassy climb with wonderful views into the Vale of Edale.
Follow this track to the end of Hagg Side woods and turn right at a major crossing of tracks to Lockerbrook Farm, keep on this track back to the reservoir and enjoy the technical down hill finish.
